This is a vintage 3-in-1 map measure. A West German, cast metal and glass navigational tool, dating to the mid 20th century, circa 1960.

Charming pocket tool for the amateur navigator, with useful map aids
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
Crafted from white metal and glass, with a tactile feel in the hand
Supplied with the original case and small instruction sheet

Main dial presents an Inch to Mile and CM to Kilometre scale for measuring maps
The needle turned by the small trundle wheel at the bottom of the tool
Useful compass to the rear with Cardinal and Ordinal points in segments of 30 degrees
Magnifying glass adds functionality for reading map detail
