This is a really pretty Victorian drop arm sofa dating from around the turn of the century, circa 1900. The sofa is upholstered in this lovely deep plush velvet which has a delightful colour range. The sofa is an extremely comfortable piece with seperate feather filled cushions to the seating area. The drop arm mechanism is still fully working and is multi positional. One of the cushions has had a sympathetic patch repair in a velvet of similar colours, to the underside ( see photo ) so is not visable, otherwise the fabric is in good serviceable order with some years of use left in it. This is a really pretty shape and the fabric with its black background and rich jewel tones makes a most cosy looking sofa in any room.
The sofa measures 140 cms long by 95 cms high by 80 cms deep. The seating area is 48 cms high by 105 wide between the arms by 60 cms deep, the individual cushions being by 50 cms wide by 55 cms deep.
