Victorian silver vinaigrette, Birmingham 1885

We have the pleasure of being able to offer this very nice Victorian silver gilt vinaigrette.
The vinaigrette is of a gilded oblong lobed form decorated with a scrolling floral design with a central inscription ENB. The vinaigrette is beautifully gilded both internally and externally and carries the English silver mark, Victoria's head and the makers mark A & S for Aston & Son on the inside of the lid and the Birmingham assay office mark, the makers mark A & S along with the date letter for 1859 on the inside of the base.
The vinaigrette is 1 & 3/4 inches (4.5cm) long and is in an excellent condition with next to no wear to the interior gilding and only limited wear to the exterior gilding on the lid.
