Victorian Round Nursing Chair on Walnut Legs
This antique nursing chair has a lovely rounded shape and a comfortable sprung seat. We would estimate it to date from the late nineteenth century. The chair is supported on turned walnut legs, which terminate in original castors, and slightly swept legs at the back. It has a later fabric covering that is badly discoloured.
Condition: Overall this piece is in usuable condition with some wear consistent with age and use. It would benefit from re-upholstery. There is some movement in the joints, particularly to one of the front legs, but the chair remains usuable. The fabric is badly marked and discoloured and the chair would benefit from being recovered.
