An elegant antique Victorian balloon back chair in Rosewood. A good quality example with shaped top rail and beautiful carving to the top back and legs. With tapestry covered stuffover seat and shaped cabriole legs. Top section of spandrels missing to front and side of seat rail. With furnishers label underneath which reads: “T. Simpson and Sons Cabinet Manufacturers, Upholsterers and Carpet Warehousemen, &c. Halifax” with workers name and stamped to seat rail: “W Bell”.

Condition Report:
A little give to the frame – joints slightly loose to front and back. Upholstery in good condition – wear and marks commensurate with age. Top section of spandrels missing to front and side of set rail (see photos).
