Victorian Oak Shield Back Hall Chair
A handsome and unusual antique Victorian shield back hall chair in oak. A good example with attractively shaped and carved back, and standing on turned legs. A decorative high quality chair with solid seat and beautifully figured oak with rich warm patina.

An old mend to one of the “spikes” on the top rail (see photos) with a small piece missing. Although fairly solid, It is quite a delicate chair in design – so certianly more of decorative chair than one that would withstand heavy use. Lovely age and patina. Wear and marks commensurate with age. Gap along seat in joint of wood.
