Victorian Mahogany Tambour Fronted Roll Top Desk
Here is a superb quality Victorian roll-top desk.
Made of mahogany which is an exqusite rich and warm colour and beautifully figured, with a tambour roll-top which opens to reveal a large writing area, with a black leather inset writing surface. The leather has a Greek key design frieze, with gold tooling.
The desk stands on elegant turned legs to the left side, with an arrangement of four drawers to the opposing side, each drawer is mahogany lined showing the excellent quality of the desk. All locks and escutcheons are present, with elegant original brass handles. Standing on the original porcelain castors.
The back of the desk is finished so could be placed in the centre of a room if required.
The top section can be removed from the base section.
Very solid sturdy and strong.
