Circa 1870. Mid Victorian pedestal desk. The solid top with a stylish moulded fore edge, to the front there is one long and two short drawers, each of the drawers with turned knob handles, there is a bank of three graduating drawers each side, and the knee hole, a single cupboard which opens to reveal a shelf. The recessed cupboard allows access for knees when sitting. The whole piece stands on an enclosed plinth which follows the form and shape of the pedestals. The back finished with unpolished panels. The desk comes in two parts.
