A superb quality late Victorian mahogany inlaid Bonheur Du Jour. This ladies writing desk has five drawers to the lower desk section with the left and right being convex and the centre drawer is concave. All drawers have beautiful floral and bell flower inlay all with working lock and keys.
It stands on four tapering legs with the front two having inlay to the top all terminating with working china castors for ease of movement. It has complimentary shaped tan tooled leather writing surface. The upper section has two small trinket drawers again with pretty inlay. Above these drawers there are two S scroll flaps with beautiful shell and floral inlay. Inside there is a graduated stationary section with flip up pen tray both flaps have working locks with keys.
This upper section is topped off with a pierced cast brass gallery rail.
This is a top quality piece of antique furniture and is stamped Hobbs & Co to the centre drawer.
