Victorian Bow Ended Mahogany Open Bookcase
A handsome, generously proportioned, and fine quality late Victorian mahogany open bookcase, having bowed ends and a raised centre section with two frieze drawers. The shelves to the centre section are adjustable, those to the ends are fixed.

Centre Shelf Dimensions: Width 38” (96cm) Depth 10” (28cm)
End Shelf Dimensions: Width 16 ½” (42cm) Depth 8” (20cm) Height graduating from 7 ½” (19cm) up to 9” (23cm)
Condition and Details of Restoration:
This item is in completely sound original structural condition, although the right hand end has been trimmed at some point and there is an unusual groove (original) to the same end. Our best surmise is that this piece was built for a specific location, possibly with pipework nearby. Should the client prefer, it would be possible for us to replace this part of the top to match the other end and polish it in to match. The original polish has been revived, by our own craftsmen, by hand in the traditional manner. There are minor old marks underneath the polish.
