Victorian 19C inlaid walnut davenport desk writing
Antique Victorian 19C inlaid walnut davenport desk writing table.
This is a lovely small desk, that is full of charm and character.
Great age and patina (not over restored).
Dissimilar period castors (some wear).
4 active drawers (mahogany lined and slide freely) and a pen drawer (pivots when pulled out) on the RHS. 4 dummy drawers on the LHS.
Later writing surface with some wear and patina.
Some historic woodworm holes, believed extinct, that we have treated for good measure.
Mainly veneer on mixed wood construction, as you would expect.
Would look amazing in the right location!
Overall maximum dimensions 54cmW x 53cmD x 81cmH (61cmH knee hole).
Historic knocks, marks, cracks, scratches, wear, imperfections, repairs and alterations, as is always the way and to be expected with genuine antique furniture. Possibly later locks (untested), with no keys. Some veneer chips and imperfections (wear on the front of the feet, as one would expect). The gallery may be later.
