Such a wonderful unused vintage enamel Stratton 'Slim Convertible' powder compact. Gleaming clean & beautiful! The lid is decorated with colourful oriental blooms shown in fine detail. There isn't any enamel / design loss and the whole item is in superb condition. This vanity was coated at the point of manufacture with a layer of lacquer which means it will never tarnish or need to be cleaned. All clasps and hinges work perfectly. The mirror gives a good and accurate reflection. The powder well wall is stamped with the patent number. The presentation box, pouch, silk topped signed puff, sifter, instruction leaflet & inspection docket are still in place. This compact can be used with all loose face powder and also many brands of compressed face powder. The base is decorate with an engine turned design of tiny chevrons and vertical lines and signed 'STRATTON MADE IN ENGLAND'. Measures 3 1/4" and weighs 100.7 grams. Free lavishly illustrated history of this piece included.
