An eye-catching unused scarlet enamel Stratton compact set which was made in the 1960s. It is becoming more and more difficult to find unused vintage vanity sets and this one is such a vibrant and gorgeous example. Both the 'Convertible' powder compact and the 'Lipview'(lipstick holder/mirror) have lustrous scarlet enamel with a diamond cut gilt star detail. The set is in super condition. The highly polished brass on both items was coated with a layer of lacquer by the makers. The protective coat of lacquer will ensure that these accessories retain this glorious condition and that they will never need to be cleaned. Both items are signed 'Stratton MADE IN ENGLAND' and are fitted with excellent mirrors, which give clear and accurate reflections. The compact mirror contains the original puff, sifter, information leaflet, inspection docket and padded paper insert. This compact mirror can accommodate standard size pans of compressed face powder. For example: Max Factor 'Creme Puff'. As this vanity mirror also contains the original sifter it is suitable for use with all types of loose face powder. The 'Lipview' can be adjusted to fit any size of lipstick. The compact measures 3" and weighs 91.4 grams. The 'Lipview' measures almost 2 1/2" and weighs 21.5 grams.
