A fabulous enamel Stratton compact and lipstick holder set in the original embroidered case. This set was made in the early 1960s and comes with the original outer box and the most gorgeous hard case clad in midnight blue fabric with embroidered turquoise bluebells. The set comprises of a lipstick holder and matching Stratton '10-Sided Convertible' both items have the most captivating floral decoration in pale blue, white and gold. Both items are in superb condition. The original pouches are present. The original pristine silk topped puff is signed 'Stratton MADE IN ENGLAND'. As the original sifter is in place this compact can be used with loose face powder. Remove the sifter and all standard size powder pans (67 mm) will fit this handbag mirror. All hinges and clasps work perfectly. The mirror gives a perfect reflection. The mirror frame is signed 'Stratton MADE IN ENGLAND'. The base of the compact is decorated with circular bands of stars. The lipstick holder is also absolutely gorgeous. It is signed 'Stratton No 2' in elegant script. The compact measures 3 1/4" and weighs 91.4 grams. The lipstick holder measures 2" and weighs 9.7 grams. Free lavishly illustrated history of this piece included.
