We are delighted to offer for sale this rare and retired Pewter & Enamel Trafalgar Chess Set by Danbury Mint. The original set would have been in a fitted box, with the lid being the board, but this is missing. We have teamed the set up with a new wooden board with a grey and white marble finish, which complements the pewter of the pieces. All the pieces have an enamel rim around the base in either red or black.

On the British side, the King and Queen are George III and Charlotte, with Nelson and Hardy, the two bishops. The pawns are The Victory. On the French side are Napoleon and Josephine, with Grevino and Villeneuve the two bishops and the French ship Bucentaure are the pawns. The Rooks are cannons of French or British style. Each piece has a felted base with the name of the piece and what or who it represents.

Please note that the scratch built first rate ship of the line shown in the second photo is a prop only, but will be listed in the near future.

The pieces will be indivudally bagged and the board will be boxed.

Board size: 14 1/2" - 37cm square

Height of King piece: 2 7/8" - 7.8cm

Condition: All the pieces are in excellent condition with no damage. The board is new.
