Tall Vintage Standard Lamp, English, Beech, Light
This is a tall, vintage standard lamp. An English, solid beech room light with wine table, dating to the late Art Deco period, circa 1950.
Grand size and superb craftsmanship
Displays a desirable aged patina
Solid beech shows fine grain interest and wisps of medullary rays
Impressive carved detail and quality wax polish finish
Light unit supported by an impressive barley twist column
Column emerges from a broad carved acanthus bulb
Small wine or side table adds further appeal with foliate borders
Includes quality linen-fold cream lamp shade
Acanthus motif repeats within the support column as part of the base
Foliate decoration around the circumference culminating in raised, scrolled leaf carvings
Raised upon squat bun feet beneath the lamp base
