A superior quality late 19th Century beautifully figured mahogany and inlaid linen press wardrobe from the bespoke workshops of JAMES SHOOLBRED of London. The removable stepped cornice having a moulded edge above satinwood and rosewood inlay, the frieze outlined with further satinwood banding and ebony, rosewood and 2 lines of boxwood stringing. The 2 doors each having 3 beautifully figured mahogany panels all with applied mouldings, satinwood banding and further conforming inlaid stringing. The doors open via a brass sprung catch to reveal 3 mahogany faced and lined open slide out drawers. The lower section consisting of 2 short over 3 long drawers all with applied mouldings and conforming inlay and retaining all the original gilded brass handles and Collinson & Cope brass locks with keys. Condition- Very good and original, Bearing makers label for James Shoolbred of Tottenham Court Road, London, Transports in 3 pieces. Delivery to most of U.K. mainland £85.
