This superb and ornately detailed George III mahogany bureau bookcase is decorated with swags, musical instruments and rams heads inlaid with satinwood. The top section has 3 fully adjustable shelves with a central drop down writing desk top complete with compartments and sectioned drawers, one of which still holds several glass ink jars. The bottom section has 2 short over 3 long graduating drawers, and features the original brass handles. The bookcase measures 45 in – 114.4 cm wide, 22 in – 56 cm deep and 97 in - 246.5 cm in height. This fine piece would make a wonderful and functional focal point to many different rooms and settings. Thomas Crabb Antiques was founded in 1979 and is run by Stephen Roy Thomas.
