A superb and substantial 18 drawer late 19th century Chippendale style figured mahogany partners pedestal desk. The whole of very good serpentine form having a cross banded top which retains the original red inset tooled leather writing surface. The three frieze drawers above the twin pedestals which have graduated and cock beaded drawers with panelled sides and further outline cock beading. All drawers retain the original good quality brass rococo handles and working brass locks with key. The whole raised on raised on ogee shaped bracket feet with carved acanthus detail.The leather writing surface is in excellent condition as it has been protected by a plate glass top which is available if desired and the desk is mahogany lined throughout.
