A stunning late 19th century French walnut and gilt brass freestanding bureau plat or writing table. The cross banded and serpentine shaped top retaining the original tooled black leather writing surface. The shaped frieze having a centre drawer flanked by 2 deeper drawers and all having applied mounts with working locks and keys. The shaped sides having quartered and cross banded walnut with superb original mounts. The whole supported on very good cabriole legs with further mounts and terminating in superb sabots. Condition- Very good, re-polished in our own workshops to a very high standard using traditional French polishing methods. Dimensions:- Height…30.25’’/77cm. Width…69’’/ 175cm. Depth…33’’/ 84cm.
