This case will hold modern cigarettes and debit / credit / large business cards.
A rare 1950s Stratton "Empress" enamel cigarette or card case. This case has the most beautiful cobalt blue enamel and a typically English scene on the lid - a butterfly just about to alight on a pansy. The pansy is surrounded by daisies and pansies. The colours are as vibrant as they were when the case was first made almost seventy years ago. The high quality enamel and the excellent condition of this case shows why vintage Stratton accessories have such a following. The enamel is highly reflective and so we have included a dull over head shot (image two) so that potential customers can what good condition this piece is in. This accessory is so well made it will never tarnish or need cleaning. It was coated at the point of manufacture with a layer of lacquer which protects the brass and prevents tarnishing. This case comes with the original felt pouch which is in excellent condition too.
All clasps and hinges work perfectly. It is so typical of Stratton to feature a clever design. The cigarette clip can be moved to accommodate both lengths of cigarettes available in the 1950s - standard and king size. So this means that this case can accommodate modern cigarettes too as well as bank notes, business and credit / debit cards. The cigarette clip is signed " Stratton REG....PAT NO 851743." The inner case & back of the cigarette case are decorated with vertical stripes.

The vintage cigarette case measures 9.5 cm X 8.6 cm & weighs 90.3 grams.
