A fine, very original, small proportioned Regency period rosewood bracket antique clock. It has a gadrooned chamfer top surmounted by a brass pineapple. The case has brass inlay with canted brass corners and brass side handles and brass ball feet. The 6 inch diameter convex dial has a brass bezel and convex glass. The dial is signed by the maker, Archibald Haswell of London. It has an 8 day timepiece fusee movement with a pendulum holdfast and glazed back door. An Archibald Haswell is listed as working 1839-1875, although this antique clock pre-dates this by approximately 10 years, so possibly the entry refers to the makers son. We have been established since 1978, dealing in and restoring most antiques, specialising in clocks and furniture. We have our own workshops where we carry out specialist restoration work.-
