Small George I Style Walnut Desk
A good quality and attractive 19th.century George I style walnut and burr walnut kneehole desk. The top having a cross banded edge with feather banding and an inset black leather writing surface with gold and blind tooling. The wide frieze drawer above 2 banks of 3 graduated and cockbeaded drawers all having burr walnut fronts with conforming feather and cross banding. The original brass axe head handles with star shaped back plates and raised escutcheons. The central recessed cupboard again with burr walnut and banding and the whole desk stands on shaped bracket shaped feet. Condition - Very good with attractive colour and complete with working locks & keys. Dimensions:- Height…29.5’’/ 75cm. Width…31’’/ 79cm. Depth…18.75’’/ 47.5cm. Delivery to most of U.K. mainland £50.
