Exceptional little Georgian oak dresser base c.1740. Useful small size, at just 66″ wide, a little smaller than many we see. Three plank top with a moulded edge with deep ogee moulding applied to the underside. Three drawers with brass knobs and escutcheons, the fronts featuring lovely boxwood and ebony chequerboard pattern inlays, mahogany crossbanding and moulded edges. Deep ogee moulding below the drawers, mirroing the one above. Raised on slim cabriole front legs with a simple carved detail to the kneee and pointed pad feet. Oak panelled sides, also mahogany crossbanded. Excellent condition with particularly good colour and patina. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
