Small 17th Century Oak Coaching Table c. 1670

A very small and charming 17th century oak coaching table with a really excellent natural and deep patina and a great colour. Pretty and original and dating from c. 1670.
The top with a lovely raised carved border to the table bed and drop leaf.
With provenance, formerly in the renowned antique furniture collection of a high profile millionaire.
Good wine table height and pegged throughout, cast iron hinges. Stands firm and solid and the leaf extends properly to give a flat surface.
No worm. Minor dings and marks and an old loss to the end of a tenon of one stretcher, not affecting structure and not requiring restoration.
A beautiful and rare survivor.
Small pieces of this quality can make a big impact in a room. Refined and subtle yet practical – guaranteed to delight.
Dimensions are:
19 inches deep, 15 inches wide with leaf extended (has only ever had a single leaf and single gateleg) 7 inches wide when leaf is dropped and height is 25.5 inches. I describe and photograph my pieces accurately and with the aim that on arrival each will exceed expectations.
I operate a full refund guarantee and am always happy to give free, honest and friendly advice.
