Silver Kiddush Cup, Rosenzweig & Taitelbaum, 1921

This is a top quality Sterling Silver Kiddush Cup from the reign of George V. It is made in London by celebrated silversmiths Rosenzweig, Taitelbaum & Co, who are renowned for their Judaica silver and dates to 1921. The firm was in business from around 1910 up to the late 1920s. The cup is in a good gauge of silver, more substantial than many Kiddush Cups, which can sometimes be quite light.
There is palm leaf decoration on either side of a large blank cartouche. The whole piece is in classic Kiddush Cup shape and style. The hallmarks on the topside of the base of the cup are well struck and clear to read.
The Kiddush Cup is in good overall condition with just some regular wear as is to be expected after virtually 100 years of use. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The cup stands 12cm high and is 5cm in diameter across the top. It weighs a substantial 44.0g.
The hallmarks are the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head assay mark for London, the gothic date letter "f" for 1921 and the JR makers' mark for Jacob Rosenzweig of Rosenzweig, Taitelbaum & Co.
