Shoolbred Inlaid Ladies Writing Desk
An unusual free standing Sheraton revival figured mahogany and inlaid ladies writing table from the workshops of Jas. Shoolbred of London. The cylinder shaped top opens to reveal a well fitted stationary compartment and the baise lined writing fall opens and is supported by the 2 drawers which have brass pulls. The whole stands on square tapering legs with spade feet, brass casters and is joined with a shaped under tier with a three quarter pierced gallery. This attractive ladies desk is inlaid throughout with satinwood banding between subtle boxwood and ebony lines. it retains it's original finish and brass fittings and benefits from working locks and keys. Fully cleaned and waxed. Sizes:- Height...35.5''/ 90.5cm. Width...27.25''/ 69cm. Depth...18.25''/ 46.5cm. Open Depth...25.5''/ 65cm. Kneehole Height...22.75''/ 57.5cm.
