Regency Rosewood Side Cabinet
A handsome Regency rosewood side cabinet or bookcase dating to c.1820 and in the manner of Gillows of Lancaster. Featuring two doors with brass mouldings, navette shaped brass grilles and cream pleated silk and flanked by reed and fluted pilasters with scrolling acanthus carved corbels. The two doors open to reveal an interior with two shelves veneered with rosewood to the front edges. With original square catch and working lock with key and raised on partly gadrooned turned feet.
In very good condition, a couple of very minor water marks to the top and small piece of veneer lost from the front edge of the base. The left side with minor scratches and slightly lightened. The right door does not quite close flat at the top.
