This is an imposing antique oil painting on canvas depicting a dashing Prince, seated in his Military garb. The sitter, possibly one of the Saxe Coburgs, is depicted wearing a plush velvet cape with a military honour around his neck. The artist has captured the style and character of this gentleman supremely well and he strikes the viewer as a most interesting character. The picture itself is in excellent original order and has no damage or restoration and the oils retain a great depth of colour. The picture is framed in its original ornate gilt frame that suits the style of the work perfectly. It retains its original gilding and measures 36 cms by 32 cms.
