Regency Mahogany Hall Chair, Newly Upholstered
An attractive regency chair. We date this chair to the first half of the 19th century.
The chair sits on downward tapered square section legs to the front and two backward splayed square section legs to the rear.
The backrest has a lovely carved lower horizontal bar and the armrests are carved in a reeded type design. The chair seat pad has been newly upholstered in a green and beige tartan fabric.
The chair has an overall height of 33.5" (85cm), an overall width of 21" (53cm), an overall depth of 22" (56cm), a backrest height of 16" (41cm), a seat height of 17" (43cm), a seat width of 19" (49cm) and seat depth of 17” (43cm).
The chair remains in a good condition with only very minor surface marks commensurate with age and usage, including some old repairs and indentations to some edges.
This remains a very stylish and elegant chair. It is very comfortable and supportive to sit on and will continue to provide rest and relaxation for many years to come.
