A rare and very beautiful mid-century Stratton 'Piccadilly' loose powder compact in superb condition!This hand painted compact mirror is a model (with different lid decorations) that only had two known years of availability, which were 1959 & 1960. A unique shape - the lucky four leaf clover and superb enamel make this vanity highly collectible. The indented edges form a quatrefoil design. No wonder the vintage Stratton brand has such a large and loyal following. The enamel shows work of the highest calibre - tiny hand painted flowers surrounded by cream enamel set off by gilt borders. This is a very rare opportunity to acquire one of the rarest Stratton models in excellent condition. The original presentation box, black felt pouch, puff and sifter are all present. The pouch, puff and sifter are pristine with no signs of use or powder. The presentation box is also still in good order. The mirror gives an excellent clear reflection. The mirror bezel is signed 'STRATTON MADE IN ENGLAND.' The inner lid bears the 'Compact-in-Hand' logo and the Stratton signature. The automatic opening mechanism works perfectly every time. The underside of the inner lid is satinized and gilt, adding to the luxurious appeal of this high quality accessory. The base is decorated with the fine spiral. This vintage compact mirror measures 3" & weighs 94.4 grams. Free lavishly illustrated history with this piece.
