A fine quality mahogany and inlaid freestanding pedestal desk of inverted breakfront form and having attractive satinwood banding between boxwood and ebony stinging throughout. The top retaining the original leather writing surface with good blind and gold tooling. Below is an arrangement of one long and two shorter drawers above the unusual tapering pedestal drawers all retaining their original brass swan-neck handles, escutcheons and mahogany linings. The stylish pedestals stand on elegant splayed legs and the desk is complete with working Hobbs & Co. brass locks and keys. Condition- Very good, no splits or damage and attributed to Edwards & Roberts of London. Dimensions:- Height…29.5’’/ 75cm. Width…42’’/ 106.5cm. Depth…24’’/ 61cm. Kneehole Height…25.75’’/ 65.5cm.
