Pair of French Empire Mahogany Armchairs c.1830
Fine pair of French Empire mahogany open armchairs c.1830. Padded backrests with a curved and moulded top rail. Open arms with lovely scrolling papyrus carved terminals and supports. Over sprung seats (seat height 17½") with a bow front edge. Shaped front legs also carved with matching papyrus detail. Upholstered in a pale green/gold pattered velvet damask with brass studs at the edges. Very good condition, frames have been cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Serviceable covers with some minor wear.
