This is a pair of antique carved hall chairs. An English, hand-carved oak Gothic Revival side seat, dating to the Victorian period, circa 1880.
Distinguished chairs, with eye-catching detail throughout
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
Select oak stocks present deep chestnut hues and superb grain interest
Hand-carved craftsmanship decorates each chair with Gothic overtones
Scroll pediment top rail with fleur-de-lys motif to centre
Archetypal Green Man masques decorate the seat backs
Rails carved with pattern details and motif
Wide, flat seat bases show appealing figuring
Shaped aprons with tooled patterns accentuate the lower aprons to front and sides
Block knees host carved foliate sections
Superb cupped legs to the front standing on tall bun feet
