This is a wonderful pair of Chinese carved hardwood armchairs which date from the 19th century. These stunning chairs have a dramatic dragon design each has a dragon carved back over a serpentine seat carved to the centre with leaves. The chairs, flanked by outswept dragon carved arms are raised on carved cabriole legs. Each dragon has wonderful bone inset eyes. The chairs are in good sound condition with some wear to the lacquer on the seats as shown in the photographs. The chairs are 84 cms high, 65 cms wide and 56 cms deep. The seat height is 43 cms.
