A superb and highly unusual PAIR of monumental 'torpedo' shaped mahogany standard lamps.
Possibly Danish or Scandinavian in origin and dating from the 1960's / 1970's.
Hugely tactile with flared based, waisted columns and bulbous heads, and with gorgeous grain and rich colour/ patination. Nicely detailed wiring stems to the tops made from solid brass.
They come complete, freshly rewired and with good quality patinated bulb holders and a pair of brand new 'retro-drum' shades.
Column height approx 146cms (178cms including the shade).
Could be used to decorate and light a room to great effect. I imagine them flanking a fireplace (or other period feature).....or perhaps standing to the side of a pair of fine (Howard?) armchairs. Perfect to read under.
These are must-have pieces for the interior designer / decorator looking for that unusual floor-standing lighting solution.
