Oil on Canvas "Fishing Boats" A Carruthers Gould
We have for sale a very attractive oil painting depicting signed A Carruthers Gould.
This lovely oil painting depicts fishermen and fishing boats. The painting is signed to the bottom left and probably dates to somewhere around 1910-1920. The picture mount carries the framers label for the Hudson Studios Ltd of the Great Western Arcade, Birmingham. Hudson Studios LTD were well known photographers, fine art dealers and framers in Birmingham during the early 20th Century. The gilt frame also carries later labels giving details about Alexander Carruthers Gould.
This charming painting measuring is 11.25 inches (28.5cm) wide, 9 inches (23cm) high and is presented in a good quality heavy gilt frame. Both the painting and frame are in an very good condition
Alexander Curruthers Gould (1870-1940)
Son of Sir Frances Carruthers Gould and was a landscape and marine artist. He exhibited widely between 1892 and 1940.
