Fabulous mid 20th.c. African couch c.1960. Joined hardwood frame painted with the red, gold and green of the Ethiopian flag (also synonymous with the Independence era pan-African movement and of course Rastafarianism). Interesting scratch carved detail to the backrest featuring crosses and the tree of life. Seat made of woven strips of cattle hide. Sold with a later foam pad and yellow fabric cover which can be laid over the seat and velcroed into place. Excellent condition.
