Mid-Century Silver Ring Tray, John Pinches, 1966

This is a very attractive Mid-Century Sterling Silver Ring Tray or Trinket Dish. The dish is made in London by John Pinches Ltd and dates to 1966. John Pinches was founded in the mid-1930s and continued in business until the late 1970s. They are best known for making commemorative items and medals but also made small household items.
This ring tray has a scalloped rim and sides, giving it a look akin to a Tudor Rose when viewed from above. It is a good looking piece that would sit well on either a period or modern dressing table or desk.
Condition is good, with no dings or dents and just the minimal surface scratching which is inevitable in an item used for rings or trinkets. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The dish is 9cm / 3.5" in diameter and sits 1cm / 0.4" high. It weighs a respectable 50.8g / 1.79oz of solid Sterling Silver.
The hallmarks on the rim of the dish are well struck and clear to read. They show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the leopard's head assay mark for London, the date letter "l" for 1966 and the JP makers' mark for John Pinches Ltd.
Shipping in the UK is £6 by Royal Mail 1st Class Signed For Parcel Post.
