Metamorphic Chapel Bench & Table.
Sourced from a local Presbyterian chapel, we have for sale several of these late 19th.c. metamorphic benches and antique tables by Pearson & Brown of Weaste in Salford, Manchester c.1890. Of ingenious design they can be used as pews or the backrest can be laid flat to make a table surface. Push two sets together to make a splendid picnic/canteen style table and benches (table width 26"). Available in two lengths 70" and 93". Of superb quality, very robustly constructed from solid pitch pine boards on heavy cast iron frames. Note the slightly dished shape of the seats for extra comfort. Excellent condition, some of the boards carry some graffiti from distracted Sunday school pupils!
Please note - to release the mechanism for the backrest/table tops requires an 11mm socket.
