Lovely Georgian Mahogany Fold-Over Tea Table
This superb antique fold-over table is of lovely quality. It dates from c.1780 and is constructed from solid mahogany. The table has a fold-over top, and one of the back legs pulls out to support this when folded out. The table has a single drawer beneath the top which retains a decorative brass handle and is supported on four square legs with chamfered inner edges. The table has fretwork shoulders to the front and to the sides at the front corner.
Condition: Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and the piece is overall a little faded. There is an area of repair to the drawer front in one corner, and there is an area of loss to the fretwork on one of the front corners. There is some signs of old woodworm to the back - this is not active, but has been retreated as a precaution. There is some marking, scratching an indentation to the top, both when folded and when open. The folded top is faded. There is some movement in the joints, but the piece remains solid and usuable.

Overall - 71.5cm high (closed), 69.5cm high (open), 54.5cm high (to underside of rail beneath the drawer at the front), 91.5cm wide, 45cm long (closed), 90cm long (open) (to maximums).
