A Worcestershire Georgian longcase clock of small proportions. An oak and mahogany crossbanded case with a carved floral swag to the pediment with brass finial. Brass capped hood columns and satinwood inlay above the trunk door. An arched painted dial with raised gilt corners and flowers. A seconds dial and date aperture. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the hours on a bell.

James Powell of Worcester worked at Cross Street from 1790 - 1838. He was 'Watchmaker, Goldsmith and Jeweller to His Royal Highness The Price of Wales' in McKenna's 'Clockmakers & Watchmakers of Central England' book.

Height 6ft 11 1/2 " / 213 cms Width (at widest point at hood top) 19" / 48 cms Depth 10" / 26 cms.
