This is a very rare and attractive repeating carriage antique clock of French manufacture and retailed by the New York retailers Marcus and Co.
This company sold prestigious items of jewelry from their premises at 17th Street and Broadway in Manhattan . The company was formed by an ex employee of Tiffany's and the firm followed a similar business model
This particular antique clocks has fabulous Limoges enamel panels to the sides which are in perfect condition and depict a musician and a jester in vibrant clothes. It is difficult to see the iridescent colours in the photographs but in the flesh the panels are truly beautiful.

The unsigned 8 day duration gong striking movement is of the finest quality and retains its original lever platform escapement and is currently being serviced by a member of the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers.
