This is a large vintage tool chest with secret drawers. An Oriental, mahogany carriage trunk, dating to the mid 20th century, circa 1950.

Presents wonderful colour and craftsmanship
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
Select stocks show fine grain interest and rich russet hues
Gold tooled inlay contrasts wonderfully beneath direct light

Stout top held stay with large decorative brass clasp
Opens smoothly with rest to rear, revealing an inset storage tray
Storage space beneath the tray situated above a pair of drawers
Drawer fronts dressed with small circular brass pulls

Brass strap corners add to the quality appearance
Removing the lower drawers and frame insert reveals a pair of concealed trays
Raised upon a quartet of shaped bracket feet, with brass carry handles to each end
Of ideal size for use as a delectable coffee table, with generous flat top surface
