Large Edwardian mahogany open armchair c.1905. Superb quality in solid mahogany throughout, this is a very sturdy and substatial chair. Unusual cresting rail with curving horns over a lovely shaped baluster silhouette backsplat. Graceful curving arms with crook terminals on swept supports. A large seat pad, freshly upholstered in a pale grey linen. Raised on large cabriole front legs with pad feet and, rather unusually, turned and block rear legs. Joined with turned H stretchers plus an extra stretcher high on the rear legs for strength. Excellent condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops.
