Kingsize antique carved oak bed with Elizabeth I
Very unusual kingsize bed indeed, a bit of a puzzle too!
The incredible central carved oak panel of Queen Elizabeth I in her Coronation robes certainly is the quality and craftsmenship of a period panel, circa 1560.
The two panels either side of her are later, perhaps an C18th coffer front and then, the two turned column posts are later again, Victorian.
So, the bed has quite a history and is such an usuaual piece, you can be almost certain, this is a true "one off!"
The bed will hold a full 5' x 6'6'' kingsize mattress and includes new handmade fitted slim upholstered base.
