Description: Antique Neapolitan polychrome wooden sculpture depicting a blessing child.

The child has naturalistic childlike proportions, with a tilted head and large eyes and a forward gaze, and stands on a carved, gilded wooden base.

The arms are raised and open, with hands positioned in a blessing and welcoming gesture, so that the anatomical rendering is simplified yet attentive to the main volumes.

The complexion is treated with pinkish hues concentrated on the face, chest, and knees.

The long, wavy hair is original from the period.

Condition: Excellent.

Provenance: Naples, 18th century.

Dimensions: 30 x 20 cm, H 65 cm.
