Huge Sign-Writer Wheeler Printer Advertising Sign
A stunning, double-sided, hand-painted, advertising sign.
'WHEELER PRINTER'
This fine artisan sign is a rare survivor and dates to the late 19th - early 20th century.
Lovely font. The gold lettering, with dark shadow is set against a pale ground on thick, antique pine boarding.
Apart from a very gentle soft brushing to remove a considerable amount of thick surface dust, this fabulous sign is presented in exactly the condition in which it was discovered. There is surface wear and tear commensurate with age, many surface blemishes and some flaking, all as is to be expected. It is painted with the same design on both sides, with the cleaner of the two sides shown here. There is a split with a little movement, as shown, however it is structurally sound.
Mounted to the wall, this striking item would make a standout statement piece either within an interior, or a commercial print business.
