Howard & Sons Restored Ticking Fabric Armchair Howard Sons Restored Ticking Fabric %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
We are delighted to offer for sale this absolutely finest quality, fully restored, original Antique Victorian Mahogany framed Howard & Son's easy armchair with period castors, correct stamps and new ticking fabric upholstery

Please note the delivery fee listed is just a guide, it covers within the M25 only for the UK and local Europe only for international, if you would like an accurate quote, please send me your postcode and I’ll provide you with the exact price.

You will see various dealers selling this model chair from all different eras, some with reproduction castors, fake upholstery, spurious stamps and so on, this is a 100% perfect example, every single detail is correct from top to bottom and it has been totally restored
The restoration is as follows, the chair was initially sent to my French polisher who has washed back the mahogany legs and traditionally French polished them from the ground up, it was then sent to my upholsterer who stripped the old upholstery off, he has made new templates for the fabric, kept the original padding and structure, then reupholstered the piece using Howards technique which is no piping, hand nail tacked in place and most importantly, the back cushion is stitched in situs and both cushions have light fiber fillings not feathers, this is super important as the fiber is lighter than feathers, more squishy so a lot more comfortable and it pops back up and retains its shape when you stand up, this is honestly the best and most true to the original form example of these chairs you will ever find
I have one other listed under my other items which has been restored to the same standard however it has super rare Claw & Ball feet all round, that model is naturally a lot more expensive
For those of you that are unaware of Howard & Son's chairs our late Queen had I think the largest private collection in the world, they are the finest hand made in England and most famous chairs in the world, highly collectable and extremely valuable, the more beaten up and original the better
This chair has all castors stamped as you can see in the picture, the inside back left leg is stamped correctly with the order number of 1109 1237 and the makers mark Howard & Son's LTD Berners St
