Circa 1950. Handmade Yorkshire Critter Carvers Oak Trunk or Coffer. The adzed two-plank top in quarter-cut oak opening to interior with brass hinges and leather retaining straps. The pegged front with twelve small panels separated by chamfered bars and similarly decorated sides, all standing on stile feet with leaf carving within triangular frame. Nice mellow colour and bearing the triangular signature of Sid Pollard.
